Sounds of the Real World - an afternoon of poetry and music in Broadstairs, 9 November 2013
Gordon Meade will be launching his poetry collection
Sounds of the Real World on 9 November, 2.00 - 5.00 p.m., at The Chapel, Albion St, Broadstairs, CT10 1LX. Gordon will be reading from his new book and there are several guest poets from the Cultured Llama Publishing stable. Music will be from Bob Carling, Sienna-Janae Holihan and Rachel Morris, and there will be an open mic for poets. The event is free, but please buy a book if you come along. The Chapel is both a bookshop and a pub right by the sea - the last time Cultured Llama held an event there it was very popular. Arrive early to be sure of a seat.

Save As Writing Workshops with Maria C McCarthy and others
Save As Writers are offering two days of writing workshops during the Canterbury Festival on 19 and 26 October 2013. Maria C McCarthy is running 'Shape Up Your Stories: How to progress from baggy first draft to shapely short fiction' on 19 October 11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Other workshops that day are: Sonia Overall, 'Writing a Novel: from idea to edit'; and Maggie Harris, 'Life Writing: truth, fiction and style'.
